Nam June Paik and the TV buddha

“Like the moon, the TV screen is a mesmerising light source that humans stare at.”

(ink on paper)

The Nam June Pack exhibit was definitely a sight to see, Seeing how he took objects or influences from completely different backgrounds and joining them together in a creative form; whether it be his recreated piano or his mouth music player, Paik’s work was an utter inspiration.

Looking more toward religious examples in this day an age, I have become fascinated with how religion, or the big brainwashing scheme as some call it’ is portrayed on screen. Nam June Paik’s working s on Buddha spoke to me here. Buddha a new age and ancient representation of the peaceful being being shown on a television is bizarre, especially due to the fact Television is not known for showcasing “Peace”
